In short
- No account: we do not ask for your name, and you never need to sign up.
- Most tools run in your browser: your files and texts stay on your device and are never uploaded.
- AI tools send your image to our AI provider, which deletes it automatically within an hour.
- We measure the audience of the website to improve it, and we never sell any data.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is toolcorner (see the legal notice). For any question about your data, write to victor.project.dev@gmail.com or use the contact page.
What we collect and why
Files and texts processed in your browser
Text tools and most image tools (resize, rotate, flip, convert, color picker, grid maker...) work entirely on your device. Your files and texts are never sent to us or to anyone else.
Images sent to AI tools
The background remover and the image upscaler send your image (often a reduced copy) to our AI provider, Replicate, to process it. The image and the result are deleted automatically within one hour and are never used for anything else, such as training AI models. Purpose: providing the service you asked for.
Payments
Paid downloads are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach us. We receive the payment confirmation, the amount and the email address you give to Stripe for your receipt. Purpose: processing the sale, refunds and our legal accounting obligations.
Audience measurement
We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to understand how the website is used and which tools to improve or build next. It records the pages you visit, the buttons you click, technical facts about your use of the tools (for example the size of an image, never the image itself), the searches typed in our search bar, the tool ideas sent with the "Missing a tool?" form, and your type of device and browser. Your IP address is used to estimate your country. You are never identified by your name.
Without your consent, this measurement works without any cookie: your visits are counted anonymously, and are not linked from one day to the next. If you accept cookies, a random identifier is stored in your browser so that your visits are linked over time, and some visits may be recorded as replays (mouse moves and clicks), with the content of text fields hidden.
We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without any cookie and without identifying you. Purpose: our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the website and, for cookies, your consent.
Contact messages
When you use the contact form, we receive your email address, the subject and your message, stored with PostHog. Purpose: answering you.
How long we keep it
- Files and texts processed in your browser: never collected.
- Images sent to AI tools and their results: deleted automatically within one hour.
- Payment records: 10 years, as required by accounting law.
- Audience measurement data and contact messages: as long as they are useful for the purposes above, then deleted.
Who receives it
Your data is only shared with the providers that run the website for us:
- Vercel: Website hosting (United States)
- PostHog: Audience measurement and contact messages (European Union (Frankfurt))
- Replicate: AI processing of images (AI tools only) (United States)
- Stripe: Payments (paid downloads only) (European Union and United States)
When a provider processes data outside the European Union, the transfer is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. We never sell your data and never share it for advertising.
Cookies
Tool Corner uses no advertising cookie. The only optional cookie is the PostHog audience measurement identifier described above, stored in your browser (cookie and local storage) only if you accept it in the cookie banner. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser, so the banner does not come back on every page.
Paid downloads use the cookies Stripe needs to process payments securely: they are required for the payment and do not need consent. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. All the tools work the same whatever you choose.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can access your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use, limit it, or receive a copy. Write to victor.project.dev@gmail.com: as we only know you by a random identifier, tell us the email address you used (payment or contact) or the approximate date of your visit.
If you think your rights are not respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
