What is a case converter?
A case converter changes the capitalization of a text. Instead of retyping a sentence written with caps lock on, or renaming variables one by one, paste your text once and get it in uppercase, lowercase, title case, sentence case and the most common programming cases.
Convert lowercase to uppercase, and back
The most common use is switching between small and capital letters. Paste a lowercase text and copy the UPPERCASE version to capitalize everything, or paste a text written in all caps and copy the lowercase version to fix it. No need to retype a single word.
How to use it
- Type or paste your text in the Input box.
- All case versions appear instantly below.
- Click the copy button next to the version you need.
Available text cases
- UPPERCASE: every letter in capitals. Useful for headings, warnings and acronyms.
- lowercase: every letter in small letters. Handy to fix text typed with caps lock on.
- Title Case: the first letter of every word in capitals, for titles and headings.
- Sentence case: only the first letter of each sentence in capitals, like regular writing.
- camelCase: used for variable and function names in JavaScript, Java and many other languages.
- PascalCase: used for class names, React components and types.
- snake_case: used in Python, databases and file names.
- CONSTANT_CASE: used for constants and environment variables, like API_KEY.
- kebab-case: used in URLs, CSS class names and file names.
- dot.case: used in configuration keys and some file names.
- iNVERSE cASE: swaps every capital letter with a small one and the other way around.
- aLtErNaTiNg cAsE: alternates small and capital letters, a popular style for memes and social media.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change text to uppercase or lowercase?
Paste your text in the input box. Every case version appears instantly below it. Click the copy button next to the one you need.
What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word, like "The Quick Brown Fox". Sentence case only capitalizes the first letter of each sentence, like "The quick brown fox".
How do I convert lowercase to uppercase?
Paste your lowercase text in the input box and copy the UPPERCASE version. It works the other way too: to convert uppercase to lowercase, copy the lowercase version.
What are camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case and kebab-case?
They are naming conventions used in programming. camelCase joins words and capitalizes each one except the first (userName). PascalCase capitalizes every word (UserName). snake_case joins words with underscores (user_name). kebab-case joins words with hyphens (user-name).
What happens to punctuation in programming cases?
Punctuation and special characters are removed, because they are not allowed in most variable names and URLs. Letters, including accented letters, and numbers are kept.
Is my text stored or sent to a server?
No. The conversion happens directly in your browser. Your text is never saved or sent anywhere.
