How to resize an image

  1. Drop your image in the box, click to choose a file, or paste it with Ctrl+V.
  2. Type the width and height in pixels, or pick a preset. Drag the frame and its corners to choose what to keep.
  3. Choose the format (PNG, JPG or WEBP) and click Download image, or Copy image to paste it anywhere.

Ways to resize

  • Same proportions: keep the lock closed and change the width, the height follows. Or click 50% or 25% to divide the size.
  • New proportions, cropped (Fill): the frame covers the image and the edges are cut. Move it to keep the right part.
  • New proportions, whole image (Fit): the entire picture fits in the frame, with margins in the background color.
  • Custom crop: drag the corners of the frame to zoom on a detail, the output keeps the size you typed.

How do I resize an image to exact dimensions?

Upload your image and type the width and height you need in pixels. If the proportions are different from your image, a frame appears on it: drag it to choose the part you want to keep, and drag its corners to include more or less of the picture.

How do I resize an image without distorting it?

The image is never stretched. With the lock closed, the height follows the width and the whole image is resized. With other proportions, the frame crops the image (Fill) or adds margins around it (Fit), so the picture always keeps its shape.

Can the frame go beyond the image?

Yes. Click Fit or make the frame bigger than the picture: the empty area gets the background you choose, transparent, white, black or any color. Transparency works in PNG and WEBP. JPG does not support it, so the empty area becomes white.

What size should I use for Instagram and other social networks?

Use 1080 × 1080 for a square post, 1080 × 1350 for a portrait post, 1080 × 1920 for a story or a reel cover, 1920 × 1080 for a YouTube thumbnail or a Full HD screen, and 1200 × 630 for the preview image of a link. They are all in the presets.

Does resizing reduce image quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp: the tool reduces it in several steps for a smooth result. Making it bigger cannot add details, so the result gets blurry. For a sharp enlargement, use the AI image upscaler instead. PNG is lossless, JPG and WEBP are saved at high quality (92%).

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Your image never leaves your device: it is resized directly in your browser. Metadata such as camera details and location is removed from the exported file.
